There are pros & cons to only getting news that you are interested in. The polarization of only getting news from 1 perspective, and not getting the counter narrative, I think is a negative. So if the news is focused on a topic, and both the for narrative for & counter narrative against is provided on that topic; I think that would be an excellent thing.
