What's the difference between Vibecoding and AI-powered Software Development?

I have been using AI to accelerate my software development workflows and I have been wondering if "Vibe-Coding" is becoming a too-narrow term.

At first, I understood that vibecoding basically meant:

"I describe something -> AI writes the code -> I fix whatever broke" -- Which is what I genuinely kept hating, writing codes manually took time but had a solid base and structure to work on.

But this is now changing as AI is advancing. Building the harness is biggest lever on which the complete software development lifecycle hinges.

So I am curious on what people are seeing on.

Are we still vibe-coding, or are we heading towards something that deserves to be called AI-powered Software Development?

Where and how do you draw the line?

I stopped calling it vibecoding once I added reusable prompts tests and guardrails What framework keeps your builds structured and stable today.
