i love how fast people can build now, but I feel many makers are shipping apps before understanding even the basics of security. My concern is that users trust these apps with personal data without knowing how weak the backend might be .

@deangelo_hinkle I think AI coding tools are helping beginners a lot, but beginners also do not know what they should never expose publicly. I have seen people accidentally leave API keys and databases open. Better security warnings inside these tools would help

@deangelo_hinkle What worries me in is that users usually cannot tell whether an app is secure or not. I feel platforms and marketplaces may eventually need stricter verification systems for AI-built products to protect people people.

The 40% stat (and the fact they're leaking things like medical records or financial information) is wild but tbh it's not surprising. The vibe coding tools have made it super easy to build a functional tool even as a non-technical person but it seems to me they default to speed and "making it work," not security.
