Cursor, Windsurf, or perhaps just Claude Code – truly can’t figure out who’s winning now

I have switched my primary code editor three times already this year and each time I do, I assure myself that it will be the last time.

It all started with Cursor, everybody being so excited about the tab completion feature. Then came Windsurf for a couple of weeks as the agent mode worked better than the others on my spaghetti codebase. Now I am back to Claude Code from my terminal, because I gave up fighting against an editor and just want something that would read my entire repository before answering.

None of them is bad. This is the frustrating part. Every one of them scores differently and the difference narrows down with each new release.

Now imagine having to use only one editor for a year with no switching. Which one would it be?
