Verdant roadmap: Pro with Edge + Drift Detector in Q1 2027 — what should come next?

Hi everyone — I’m griff, the developer behind Verdant. We’re launching Verdant Free on Product Hunt on September 10, and I’d love to hear what you want from the next stage.

Available now: Verdant Free for iPhone

Keep plant history, photos, and journal entries together, with optional live sensor readings from Home Assistant. No account, credit card, or trial clock. Your grow records stay on your device.

Planned for Q1 2027: Verdant Pro

• Drift Detector: a probe at canopy height that continuously measures environmental conditions.

• Verdant Edge: a local box on your network that keeps detailed sensor history and runs forecasts. Pro uses Edge and Drift Detector together to help reveal environmental drift and assess recovery after a change.

Further on the roadmap — dates to be announced

• Scout Detector: camera-based monitoring of sticky pest traps, with images analyzed by Edge to track pest pressure.

• Verdant Dock: a platform that weighs a plant’s pot to track irrigation events and dry-down patterns, adding another source of evidence for

Edge: The goal is to connect what happened around a plant with how it responded, while keeping the intelligence on your own network. These hardware products are still in development; Q1 2027 is our planned availability window for Edge and Drift Detector.
