Why resume customization breaks for most job seekers

One of the biggest problems we noticed while building FocusFr was resume customization.

Most job seekers know they should customize their resume, but in reality:

- It’s time-consuming

- People don’t know what to change

- ATS systems look for different keywords per role

- Manually editing bullets often makes resumes worse, not better

As a result, people either send the same resume everywhere or over-edit it until it loses clarity.

We built FocusFr to solve this by focusing on practical customization:

- Match resumes directly against job descriptions

- Highlight missing skills and keywords

- Tailor bullet points without changing meaning

- Keep resumes ATS-safe while still readable by humans
