Why most bad haircuts are communication problems (not skill problems)

by

Most bad haircuts don’t happen because the barber lacks skill.

They happen because:
• the client isn’t sure what suits them
• the words don’t match the picture in their head
• “short,” “fade,” and “clean” mean different things to different people
• expectations are never fully aligned

Barbers work with structure, balance, and growth patterns.
Clients often arrive with vibes, photos, or half-formed ideas.

That gap is where things go wrong.

I’m curious , when you’ve had a bad haircut, what was the real issue?
• not knowing what to ask for?
• not understanding barber terminology?
• rushing the consultation?
• something else?

Would love to hear real experiences from both sides of the chair.
