What social media features do you miss from the early days?

I've been building a social app and realized I'm basically trying to recreate features that disappeared over the years - Top Friends rankings, pokes/prods, profile customization.

Modern platforms optimized everything for engagement metrics and ad revenue. We lost a lot of the playful, human elements that made social media actually social.

What features do you miss?

• MySpace Top 8?

• Facebook pokes?

• Chronological feeds?

• Profile customization?

• Away messages (ok that's showing my age)?

What would you bring back if you could redesign social media from scratch?

Genuinely curious what resonates with people. I've been working on NorseHorse (launching soon) which brings back some of these, but wondering what the community thinks actually matters vs. just nostalgia
