Introducing DevScribe β€” A Next-Gen Product Documentation Tool for Developers

byβ€’

Hey everyone

After 1.5 years of designing, coding, and refining, I’m thrilled to share DevScribe, a next-gen productivity tool built specifically for developers, architects, and tech writers.

DevScribe unifies docs, code, and design in one offline workspace, helping you stay focused, organized, and secure β€” without juggling multiple tools or worrying about privacy.

---

πŸ’‘ Why I Built DevScribe

As a developer, I constantly switched between Notion for docs, VS Code for code snippets, draw.io for diagrams, and Postman for API testing.

That constant context-switching killed focus and flow.

So I decided to build one tool that brings everything together β€” a single workspace that works even without the internet, keeps everything local, and still feels modern and powerful.

---

βš™οΈ With DevScribe, You Can

- Design, code, and document all in one place

- Create System Architecture (HLD) & Low-Level Design (Class Diagrams)

- Run code in Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript

- Execute SQL and Shell commands locally

- Document and test APIs β€” all within one app

- Work completely offline with full data privacy

πŸ”’ Privacy by Design

Everything stays on your Mac β€” no servers, no cloud, no data tracking.

DevScribe is built for developers who value productivity and privacy.

πŸ’¬ Looking for Feedback

I’d love to hear your honest feedback and reviews on DevScribe β€” what you like, what could be better, and what features you’d want next.

Your insights mean a lot and will help shape the next version.

Hi @avinash_iitb I like the idea of unifying some of these tools for developers. Currently I'm building OpenTest a full stack testing tool so just like postman but with fuss tack capabilities. While it might be slightly different, it's the same vision with Describe and OpenTest brings a whole different angle of API testing. I would love to collaborate with you please dm to chat more
