When managing a team, I find it time-consuming to build and maintain quarterly and yearly plans. And it's hard to play around with different scenarios to answer questions that might come up like: Can you take on a new project? And how would that affect your roadmap? What if we make Project A lower priority, does that push any other projects out past their target end dates? I have a master spreadsheet to track everything, but at the end of each quarter, I want to reflect on how our plans changed. Leadership asks "Why did this project slip by a month?" and I'd like to be able to see when we made that change and what caused us to push a project out by a month. I find it very cumbersome to play around with different scenarios and track history using spreadsheets, so I built TPlanz to help with team resource planning and high-level project tracking. TPlanz also includes a paid feature that gives you a high-level financial view of all your projects. We connect to Quickbooks Desktop or Quickbooks Online and your time-tracking software to show how profitable your projects are at any given time. Anyone else having similar issues? I'd love to chat.

@zechdc Very useful tool! The interface looks beautiful and easy to use. However, I have a question: how does it operate on mobile? More and more office scenarios are shifting to mobile, so I'm curious to ask.
Zech Campbell
@loggerhead There isn’t a mobile version right now. I see this more like spreadsheets, kinda hard to do on mobile but the read-only version is nice. Hoping to add a read-only version of the chart for mobile soon.

Hey Zech, Are there any limits on the number of projects or team members it can effectively manage? Congrats on the launch!
Zech Campbell
@kyrylosilin Thanks! No limits on how many projects or employees you can add right now! As far as "effectively manage". Everything is done client side, so once you reach a few hundred resources (projects & employees) the tool will start to slow a bit.

Great work, @zechdc ! TPlanz looks like a fantastic solution for simplifying project planning and keeping track of changes over time. It sounds like a real time-saver for anyone managing multiple projects and resources. Looking forward to seeing how it helps teams streamline their workflows!

It sounds like you’ve built a really helpful tool with TPlanz! Managing project timelines, resources, and keeping track of changes can definitely be a challenge, especially when leadership needs clear answers about why certain deadlines were missed. The ability to model different scenarios and track the history of changes is something that a lot of teams could benefit from. The integration with financial data is a great feature too, as it can give a complete view of not just the project timeline but also the profitability, which is key for decision-making. I’m sure there are others facing similar challenges. If anyone’s interested in simplifying project planning and tracking, TPlanz sounds like a solution worth exploring. Would love to hear more about how it’s working for teams in practice!

Love this. I've been trying to hack something together and plan a roadmap for littlebro.app but it just ends up being more work and stress. Definitely trying this out!

I like the idea of being able to quickly see the impact of changes on a roadmap. One thing I’m wondering though: How does TPlanz handle multiple, overlapping projects with shared resources? Is there a way to easily spot resource conflicts or overloads when adjusting priorities? Thanks!
Zech Campbell
@riversirvi26253 One thing that makes TPlanz unique is that it automatically adjusts the timelines to ensure you never overbook a resource. This can be a little confusing at first. A few things I recommend: 1. When you want to try different scenarios, duplicate the plan sheet so you can easily compare to your original plan and better understand what’s changed 2. You can filter by an employee so you can easily see how a single person is allocated to each project One of the big motivations for this tool is that other tools are often time consuming to use because you have to manually move the timeline for each person. TPlanz ensures your team is never overworked, you set the max hours per week TPlanz will tell you when each project can be completed and if you are unable to finish your projects on time so you can adjust client expectations or assign more resources.
