THRIVE - A habit tracker that looks like a 1983 phosphor terminal

by•
Pick up to six goals, one per side of your life, and check them in on a weekly grid. Stats, levels, streaks and shields turn a year of small decisions into something you can see. The entire interface is drawn in code, so you can recolour the whole app to a different phosphor at runtime. No account, no analytics — nothing leaves your iPhone.

This started with fridge magnets. My calendar was a sheet of paper where I moved a magnet onto the day I actually kept a promise to myself. It worked, and it had exactly one flaw: at the end of the year the sheet went in the bin, and with it any sense of what the year had actually added up to. THRIVE keeps the honesty of the magnet — you only mark what you really did — and adds the part paper cannot do. Six life stats level up as you keep them. A stat you abandon for a week starts fading, because that is how skills actually behave. Close a full week and Monday pays a bonus that multiplies the longer you hold it. I built and designed all of it myself, with no dependencies and no server. The look is the part I am most attached to: there is not a single bitmap in the interface, everything is drawn, which is why you can recolour the whole app between five phosphors and it just recomputes. Free for 14 days. I will be here all day — ask me anything.
