The Cartographer's Lie: now on Android - One hex on this chart is a lie. Find it. A new map daily.

by•
A daily deduction puzzle on a nautical chart. One hex on today's island is drawn as something it is not. Every survey note is true, and only one hex can satisfy them all. Find it and file your correction; you get three. New since our first launch: the Android app, spoiler-free share cards with a beat-my-time challenge, and Google sign-in. Casual and Standard charts are free in any browser, no account needed. Hard and Fiendish, streaks, ratings and duels live in the iOS and Android apps.

Hi Product Hunt. I'm Kevin, I made this alone over the summer. I wanted a daily puzzle where the reasoning was spatial rather than lexical: instead of guessing a word you're triangulating a position on a map from clues that are all true at once. The chart is engraved in the style of old hydrographic surveys because that's the fiction: you're a surveyor correcting someone else's chart. Since the first launch here in September the Android app has shipped, the share grid became a proper share card with a beat-my-time challenge, and Google sign-in works on both phones. The web version is free and plays in the browser; the apps add the harder tiers and the social layer. I read every comment, and if the puzzle is too easy or too hard on a given day, I want to know.
