TermWard - Find and track contract cancellation deadlines—locally

by•
TermWard is a local-first desktop app for owners, operations leads, and finance leads managing vendor agreements. Open an English PDF, paste text, or enter terms manually. It surfaces likely renewal and notice clauses with source evidence, then calculates review, cancel-by, and renewal dates only after you confirm them. Records stay on your computer; confirmed deadlines can optionally sync to Google Calendar. No TermWard account, cloud contract database, or remote document analysis.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Darshan, the builder of TermWard. The idea came from repeatedly seeing vendor agreements tracked across spreadsheets, folders, and calendar reminders. The recurring failure wasn’t simply forgetting the renewal date—it was noticing the agreement only after its earlier cancellation window had already closed. I initially explored a web app with cloud reminders, but contract privacy kept becoming the uncomfortable part of the design. That led me to rebuild TermWard as a local-first desktop application. PDF extraction, OCR, clause ranking, date calculation, and structured records stay on the user’s computer. The model only surfaces likely clauses; it does not silently decide what a contract means. Every candidate is shown with its source passage and must be confirmed or corrected by the user. Once confirmed, TermWard calculates three separate dates: • Internal review date • Last cancellation date • Renewal date The user can optionally synchronize those dates to a dedicated Google Calendar, allowing Calendar to deliver reminders even when TermWard is closed. This is the first public Windows beta. I’m particularly interested in honest feedback on: • Whether the local-first approach meaningfully improves trust • Whether the source evidence makes extraction easy to verify • Whether a single accountable owner plus exports is enough, or collaboration is essential • PDF/OCR failures and confusing date terminology • Google Calendar synchronization • Backup and recovery expectations for a local application Please test with fictional or non-confidential content, and don’t send me private contracts. Thanks for taking a look. I’ll be here throughout the launch to answer questions and learn from the feedback.
