Why is planning a simple party still so complicated?

by

I’ve been thinking about something that feels oddly outdated.

Planning a celebration sounds simple: pick a date, decide on a budget, find a few vendors, and get everything booked.

But in reality, even for a simple birthday or house party, you can end up spending hours searching Instagram, Google, WhatsApp groups, asking friends for recommendations, comparing quotes, and coordinating 5–6 different people.

And the frustrating part is that most of the information you need is scattered everywhere.

You might find a great decorator on Instagram, a photographer through a friend's WhatsApp contact, a cake vendor on Google, and an entertainer through another recommendation.

There are plenty of marketplaces that help you find vendors, but I’m curious:

Why isn't there a simple way to plan the entire celebration in one place?

Something where you could say:

“I’m planning a birthday in Delhi for 30 people, my budget is ₹50,000, and it’s on September 20.”

…and get a practical plan — what you need, how much each part could cost, what to book first, and suitable options to choose from.

I’m working on something in this space called Tendr, but before building more around the idea, I’d genuinely like to understand the problem from people who actually plan events.

If you were planning a celebration tomorrow, what part would you want someone else to take care of for you?

Finding vendors?
Negotiating prices?
Coordinating everyone?
Staying within budget?
Or simply figuring out what you actually need?

Curious to hear how everyone currently does this.
