Why I built a kanban board that's also a mind map
Hey everyone 👋
I'm Koji, building TaskMandala solo. It just went live on Product Hunt today,
and I wanted to open this thread as a place to chat about the problem it's
solving (and to hear how you all deal with it).
The problem: Kanban boards are great for tracking status, but they don't
show why a task matters — is it blocking something bigger? Part of a launch
plan? You can't tell from a column.
Mind maps show those relationships, but you lose all the operational detail —
no due dates, no status, no priority.
What I built: A kanban board and a mind map of the same data, synced in
real time. Move a card, its node moves. Connect two ideas on the map, the
relationship appears on your board.
Curious to hear:
- How do you currently track why a task matters, not just what's next?
- Tags? Docs? Sticky notes? Something else?
