tried this site before for research but each time the search engine just doesn't work for me, the filters aren't usable for my subject and a quick search on 'urban rooftops' or 'green roofs' for example don't show me relevant studies.
The interface looks good and could maybe work as a library tool like Zotero does when you are willing to work on browser extensions.
Please look at sites like google scholar and sciencedirect for inspiration for your search interface and maybe work on the algorithm.

@mixeden at the moment I'm researching the usability of rooftops as multifunctional spaces, like for biodiversity and meeting new people. Idk about filters though, you could have a look at science direct for those. I can take some screenshots for u if it's not available
