Hey Product Hunters! ๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome to the 2,497th habit-tracking tool launch youโ€™ll see on PH this year! I feel so unique, a true innovator ๐Ÿ˜ Second app I launch on PH since I left my iOS dev job. I have this crazy idea of trying to join the club of digital nomads living from their products. Currently at $150 a month, it looks like I should get there within the next 7 decades, which is pretty exciting ๐Ÿ‘ด. Iโ€™ve had to start freelancing to pay the bills, but I still try to find time to build my own apps. ๐Ÿ’ก Idea A year ago, I decided that if I wanted to be able to play the piano ๐ŸŽน by the time Iโ€™m 80, Iโ€™d better get started. We tend to burn out if we do too much at once ๐Ÿคฏ and give up if we focus too much on results ๐Ÿ˜ฅ, so I simply committed myself to play 15 minutes a day, every single day where I had a piano at hand. So you know how it goes: obvsioulsy, I wanted stats. So I printed a paper calendar ๐Ÿ“… that I stuck to my wall, โœ˜ crossed off each day during months, wondered if an app could replace it ๐Ÿค”, and -believe it or not- was not able to find an app that showed me an entire year of habit on a calendar that would fit entirely on my ๐Ÿคณ iPhone screen! ๐Ÿ›  Building So of course, I built one! Manipulating dates is a dangerous task and I spent 100+ hours ๐Ÿ˜ฑ making sure this worked perfectly regardless of your time zone. So Iโ€™ll need quite a lot of sales before this makes any financial sense. But hey, makers gonna make! ๐Ÿ˜Ž The app lets you track daily habits and creates yearly calendars. It calculates your current and best streaks, and your completion rate per year. There are no weekly habits for now but I want to add them later on: Iโ€™d love to hear any idea on how this could look on the calendar and how you'd like completion to be calculated. ๐Ÿ˜‡ What do I get for free? The app is free and everyone can track two habits for life. A 5$ one-time fee unlocks unlimited habits, dark mode, and supports my indie dev challenge๐Ÿ‘Œ. ๐Ÿคญ One more thing The first app I launched got almost 200 upvotes here, got me a few hundreds downloads, ended up top 10 of the day and gave me a HUGE motivation boost. So Iโ€™ll make use of this opportunity to THANK YOU ALL for your support last time! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ‘ Thank you PH, Kevin PS: Fellow hunters on Android, to anticipate the dreaded question, the app is unfortunately not available on Android. As a solo developer with limited time, I have to focus on one platform at the moment.

Nice work @kevinquisquater! This is something Iโ€™ve been looking for / wanting to make for a while. Great work, UI & commitment to making this. I absolutely love that there is no monthly subscription in app but rather $5 can be paid. Iโ€™m looking forward to the app updates. Howโ€™s the piano playing going? ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป Cheers!
Kevin Quisquater
@3raxton Thank you so much Braxton! Fun fact: during the development phase, I actually implemented subscriptions into the app (in part to try @jeiting 's great RevenueCat product), and ended up changing my mind right before launching and switching to a one-time IAP. That might have been a good decision, given your comment. But I should A/B test. And the piano journey has been absolutely amazing and rewarding so far. I found a fantastic teacher that is able to explain me the neuroscience explaining "why" we need to focus on certain types of exercices or techniques. I am slowly starting to play pieces that start to sound "good" while being simple, so I suspect that within 2 years, I'll start playing some great pieces. It's very rewarding, and requires going through the first 6-10 months of exercices that are not very impressive nor beautiful to the ears. Do you play yourself? Thank you again!

@jeiting @kevinquisquater Sounds brilliant, Kevin. I wanted to point out one thing in the app that you may want to consider changing. On the opt in and opt out of analytics, the opt in says "Opt in from" just like the "opt out from" option. What do you think about changing it to "opt in to" rather than from? Would be happy to help A/B test if at all needed. Hope learning piano continues to be fun!
Kevin Quisquater
@3raxton Nice catch, thank you! I am not a native speaker, so this is really useful feedback to me ๐Ÿ‘Œ Will change this in the next update!

@kevinquisquater no worries! Iโ€™d be happy to help you out if anything similar that you have a question about comes up ๐Ÿ™Œ
Anthony Da Mota
Awesome! Love the UI ๐Ÿ˜
Kevin Quisquater
@akdm_ Wow, glad to hear that, thanks Anthony!! If you have a minute, a rating on the App Store helps a LOT climbing the rankings ๐ŸคฉYou can do that easily via the Settings tab. Thank you!!
MyLe Goel
I just downloaded and paid! I like the simple UI. Where are you based? Iโ€™d love to learn more about your coding experience and interest in health & fitness. I may be looking to hire a dev. for my product.
Kevin Quisquater
@myle_goel Thank you so much MyLe. I'm based in Barcelona and I am taking on short to mid-term remote freelance projects, so if that could fit your needs, would be happy to chat!
MyLe Goel
@kevinquisquater Cool. Can you send me a DM w/ your email?
Sebastian Crossa
Have been waiting for something like this to launch! Kudos to you for building a beautiful app :)
Kevin Quisquater
@sebastiancrossa Thanks a lot Sebastian, glad the app fits your need!
Lewis Smith

I love the simplicity and the big picture view you get.

Pros:

Clean and simple

Cons:

Early days

James Coletti
Great app, @kevinquisquater. Love the UI. Would totally use & pay if it had 2 additional features: (1) concept of negative habits (i.e., negatives don't require you to tap each day unless you slip up), and (2) Today View widget.
Kevin Quisquater
@jamescoletti Thanks a lot for your feedback James! Negative habits is interesting nad has been suggested by an other user. I like the concept of not taping. If I ever implement this, may I get in touch with you for feedback? Today view widget: sounds interesting too. I'll first focus on import/export for Pro users, then reminders/notifications, then I'll explore this and other options. Thank you so much again
James Coletti
@kevinquisquater Sounds great, and yes, would be glad to help in any way possible.
Sam Robbins
The first habit tracking tool that I might use, shame it's iOS only though, any chance of an android version in the future? Best of luck though!
Kevin Quisquater
@sam_robbins Thank you Sam! I gave a small explanation at the end of my first comment but basically, I unfortunately have to focus on one platform... I work on this after my freelancing hours, and am not familiar with Android (yet?), so I'll first see if this works on iOS. Really hope you'll find an Android alternative that'll suit you though!
Sam Robbins
@kevinquisquater Ahh... I should have seen that, makes perfect sense
Londerson
I really like this :)
Kevin Quisquater
@londerson Thank you!
rodrigo deodoro

Wake me up when developers aren't iPhone first.

Pros:

Exists

Cons:

Not on Android or the web

Kevin Quisquater
Thanks for taking the time to leave this review @rod_ Rodrigo, and sorry that it's not available on Android or other platforms. I unfortunately have limited time and the v1.0 alone required over 100 hours of development, just to support the iPhone. But there are tons of great alternatives for Android, check the "Related products" section on the right-side! All the best :)
Amir Shneider
Hi Kevin, amazing Habit tracking tool! kodus! when will you have ios Widget? it's a super feature that is currently missing, could you please update?
Kevin Quisquater
@amirshneider Hi Amir, thank you! Will launch widgets at some point for sure, but to be honest I am focusing on other apps at the moment, because this one makes very few downloads. So I cannot guarantee anything before a few months, I'm sorry :( The competitors have amazing app though, I would recommend having a look! Kev
