Steady (Birth Partner) - The labour app for the partner who wants to help

by•
Most birth apps are built for the person giving birth. Steady is for the partner standing next to her. One-tap contraction timer with the averages the hospital asks for, 17 labour positions showing exactly where to put your hands, breathing cues you can follow with the phone face down, and a birth preferences list to talk through beforehand. No account, nothing leaves your phone. Free, with one banner ad that $2 removes.

I'm Aman, a dad of two in Melbourne. At our first birth I printed a stack of notes on how to help in labour and never looked at them once. In the room, everything moves fast and your phone is the only thing close by (in your pocket). So before our second baby arrived a few weeks ago, I built Steady, a labour app for the partner rather than the person giving birth. It started as breathing cues with an ocean sound so you don't have to look at the screen and evolved into illustrated positions that show exactly where your hands go and a birth preferences list so the conversation with your midwife starts from something concrete. I kept it private by design: no sign-up and no data collected. It's free with one small ad, and $2 removes it. That money goes towards an iPhone version and paying a local artist to redraw the positions with consistent models. Nothing you need in labour will ever be behind a paywall. It's Android only for now. I'd love your feedback, and if you know someone who's expecting, please pass it on. Thanks!
