Hey Product Hunt! 👋 Thanks for hunting us! My name is Christopher Ries, I’m a co-founder of SphereOne and we’re super excited to announce our initial product launch! My co-founder and I weren’t always working on cross-chain payments. Like most of you, we iterated to this current product shape. At the time, users in Web3 didn’t have access to on-chain credit options so this inspired us to go build a buy-now-pay-later protocol for Web3. We demonstrated the technology at a Solana Hacker House, but most people liked that we offered users the ability to repay their loans with liquidity across different chains (e.g. Ethereum to Solana). As we dug into the cross-chain infrastructure we found it to be too slow and difficult for your average consumer to navigate the multitude of steps to make payments across blockchains. Not to mention the billions in stolen customer assets due to bridge exploits from nation-state actors like the Lazarus Group. I took this personally since I had dealt with the Lazarus Group while working on the infamous 2014 Sony breach. Long story short, we pivoted from the buy-now-pay-later product and focused solely on streamlining cross-chain payments. So what did we ship with this release and why does it move the needle? ⚡️ Use your crypto across other chains without the hassle of long wait times. 💰 View all of your currencies and digital collectibles in one place. 📱 Single payment interface that allows you to make crypto purchases with two-factor auth without having to recover your crypto wallets on other devices. 👨‍👩‍👧 Pay your friends and family, or merchants in crypto with their email address, phone number, username, or wallet address even if they aren’t a SphereOne user. 🛠 Deploy smart wallets on supported blockchains and never have to worry about having enough gas to pay for a transaction again. 🔗 Link your credit card, debit card, bank account, or existing wallets to consolidate your payment methods for crypto transactions. This sounds like an innovative and much-needed solution to streamline cross-chain payments. How do you ensure security and prevent hacks like the Lazarus Group incident? Congrats on the launch!

I spoke briefly about it but the way that you manage vulnerabilities in those infra dependencies is by minimizing the threat surface. So the idea would be that we won't be issuing synthetics (which is historically what a user has been given when using cross chain bridges), these are one for one swaps (a direct trade in liquidity from ETH to SOL across their respective chains). If we can process those cross chain swaps fast enough we limit our exposure, since we aren't holding those assets on the bridging infra. Happy to chat more since I could go on all day about the various security measures that we're taking.

I can't believe it's finally launch day! I'm so excited to share it with the world! It's been a long road, but I truly believe that this product is a game-changer in the world of cryptocurrency transactions. With gasless transactions, account abstraction, seamless swaps and bridges, enhanced user experience, and on and off ramps all in one platform, I'm confident that we're filling a much-needed gap in the market. Nice product!!!! In countries like Argentina 🇦🇷 this will be a usefull app for fighting against our economy! Sending money to our friends or just paying in crypto for any product!!! I've justed tested the android app and love it!

I doubt my grandmother would be able to use it, but the UI is definitely neat. However, your website says that you "include a small spread on crypto payments that include network fees, exchange fees, etc.". What are the fees?

Hi Kristie! We are sure grandmas will also understand how to use it, or we will try it at least :) Our goal is to reach common people, making user experience incredible and simple. Just 1 click and there you go. Regarding to fees, this are the normal fees on every chain, but we are working also with Account Abstraction and Smart Wallets that will allow us tu have gasless transactions on some chains :)

definitely. Cross chain interoperability has been a big issue in the space that has the power to supercharge a user's experience in crypto because when done correctly allows you to take advantage of all the various advantages of a specific chain (low cost of Solana transactions and Solana Pay, account abstraction on Ethereum, gaming ecosystem of Polygon, gas free transactions on Immutable, etc.).
