Why is staying consistent with fitness so difficult when life gets busy?
I've recently launched SparkFit, a fitness app I've been building alongside my full-time job, and I'd love to get some thoughts from the Product Hunt community.
I'm a qualified personal trainer, but I also work full-time in tech and have a family, so I know how quickly exercise can fall down the priority list.
One thing I've noticed is that people rarely struggle because they don't want to get fitter. It's usually because the routine they've started just doesn't fit their lives.
An hour at the gym sounds great until work runs late. Meal prepping sounds easy until you've got a family to feed. And tracking every calorie can quickly become another job.
That's really why I built SparkFit.
The idea is to make things manageable: 15-minute home or gym workouts, straightforward meal plans, simple nutrition targets and an AI coach for when you need a bit of guidance.
But here's what I'm really interested in...
For anyone who's started a fitness routine and then stopped, what was the main reason?
Was it finding the time, losing motivation, not knowing what to do, or just getting bored?
And if you've used fitness apps before, what made you stop using them?
I'm still improving SparkFit and would genuinely love to hear people's experiences, even if you've never tried my app.
Thanks everyone!
Colin
