We wanted a way to be able to have the same sorts of casual, small-group conversations that we used to have in person, so we built Social hour (https://socialhour.com/).
Simply plan an event, set table topics, and share the link! Guests can move around tables, set background music, and make announcements to the party.

I've attended a number of virtual events over the past few months, and have been bummed at the lack of opportunities to connect with other attendees and have all those "hallway conversations" where you get so many good ideas and find future collaborators.
Posting text in a chat window and watching it scroll past does not make for meaningful connections!
I am excited to put Social Hour to use in a professional group I manage and think it has solid potential for a conference I am speaking at in October, to being the social back to conference attendance.
