Curious - How do you save and remember your favorite places?

I've run into the same problem for years while traveling or trying new local places. Every time a friend asked "where should I eat in Miami?" I'd spend 40 minutes digging through screenshots, saved posts, and old messages trying to piece together recommendations. Or when I'd revisit a matcha place in my area, I'd forget the exact way I ordered it. Was it two pumps of vanilla or 3? What did I like and not like about it? And how can I share this feedback with others too?

When I did find my notes, sharing them was painful. I once wrote out an entire itinerary with comments and tips for a friend. It looked organized in my Notes app but the second I pasted it into a text message it became this unreadable wall of text.

I'm surprised people haven't struggled with this as much as I have. How do you keep these discoveries and recommendations organized?

honestly my system right now is a starred list in google maps plus a notes app doc that's completely out of sync with it, so half the context lives in my head. the wall-of-text-when-you-paste-it problem is so real, I've sent friends a numbered list of restaurants and by the time it hits imessage all the formatting is gone and it just reads as noise. the actual detail I lose most is the order-modification stuff, like your matcha example, since that's exactly the kind of thing that's too small to write down in the moment but you really want next time.

Thank you for this great comment! This is literally the exact pain that made me build Snipplet. The Google Maps starred list that tells you nothing except "you liked this place once" without any comments and the Notes doc that makes perfect sense to you but turns into chaos the second you share it. And yes, the order modifications! Those tiny details are the difference between "that place was good" and actually recreating the experience. That's why every place in a snipplet has room for your personal notes and tips.

For group trips, could each place show who added it? That context would make shared guides more useful.

Love this idea! Knowing who added a spot adds so much more context, especially on group trips where everyone has different taste. This is on our roadmap for collaborative guides. Really appreciate the thoughtful feedback, stay tuned!
