Snapr – Custom cursors for better screen recordings
by•
Hey everyone 👋
One small detail I always found frustrating when recording demos was the cursor.
It’s either:
- too small to see
- jittery and distracting
- or just... boring
So I added a custom cursor feature to Snapr.

Now you can:
• Use different cursor styles and adjust size
• Smooth out cursor movement (no more jitter)
• Add motion blur trails
• Add click effects for better clarity
The goal wasn’t to make it flashy —
but to make recordings easier to follow.
Especially for tutorials, product demos, and presentations.
Would love to hear your thoughts:
What makes a “good” cursor in recordings for you?
Also… yes, you can turn your cursor into a cute cat 🐱
Not essential, but hard to resist.

The motion blur smoothing combo is actually super useful .Jittery cursors are surprisingly distracting in tutorials.
@elliot_grant1 Exactly, we can’t stop human hands from being a bit jittery, but the tool can definitely help smooth things out 🙂
Nice balance here between functionality and fun. You didn’t overdo it, but still made it expressive.
@evan_sterling Thanks! I actually debated adding a full cat body with moving legs… but yeah, that might’ve been a bit too much 😄
Custom cursors are underrated for teaching content .When I'm watching demos I usually lose track when the cursor is too fast or unclear.
@gabriel_brooks1 Exactly, those little details really matter when you're creating something to share. Sounds like you know your stuff 👍
