I’ve never been a morning person. For as long as I can remember, waking up early felt impossible—forcing myself awake just left me groggy and uncomfortable. I wanted to feel truly refreshed in the mornings, but nothing seemed to work.
Then I learned about sleep cycles: if you wake up at the right point in your cycle, you feel alert instead of groggy. I tried manually timing alarms around my sleep cycles, and it worked… most of the time. But doing it every night was a hassle, so I started looking for an app to automate it.
The apps I found either had too many extra features I didn’t need or locked the main functionality behind a subscription. That’s when I thought, “Why not make one myself?” I’m not an iOS developer, but I know about programming, so I bought a $99 Apple Developer account and started building.
After some trial and error, I made Sleke: simple, minimal, and focused purely on sleep cycles. Now, most mornings, I wake up feeling genuinely refreshed.

Just checked my Apple Watch after using Sleke, and it shows my "Sleep Duration" has gone down. Previously, it was around 9 hours.
But I’m loving it. I'm staying productive longer than ever, and waking up feeling completely refreshed every morning!
