I've been chewing on this while building Ulsa, so I wanted to open it up here before we launch.

If you work in a fast-moving field, staying current is basically a second job. For years my routine was checking ten different sources every morning, newsletters, X, a pile of news sites, and I still felt like I was missing the things that mattered for my work while drowning in things that didn't.

I don t know if I can be convinced that AI doesn t intentionally sabotage code. Whether using Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT, every vibe coder has hit that wall where the model seems to actively work against you on a bad day.

You know the drill:

• Ridiculous function names: maybeSetConnectionState? Maybe? Come on.

• Instant drift: Completely ignoring agreed-upon boundaries right after clarifying them.

• Convoluted architecture: Shoving complex files into straightforward process chains, making them brutally difficult to navigate.

• The CLI nightmare: Watching a command overwrite your entire codebase, followed by the AI gaslighting you about how to find a folder it just erased.

We re building CatchDex, a private collection game for anglers who already take catch photos but want something more useful and fun than a camera roll.
The idea is simple:
Log a real catch use AI to help identify the species keep the exact spot private unlock a collectible FishDex card.
Most fishing apps focus on maps, forecasts, or finding spots. We re taking a different angle: what happens after the catch.
CatchDex helps anglers:
- turn catches into collectible FishDex cards
- keep fishing spots private with aliases instead of exposed coordinates
- track species progress, mastery, and season history
- create GPS-safe share cards
- build a personal fishing collection from real-world memories
The hardest part has been balancing game feel with trust. Anglers care deeply about not burning spots, so privacy can t be a bolt-on feature. It has to shape the whole product.
We re currently in beta and would love feedback from anglers, outdoor app builders, privacy-first product folks, or anyone who has thoughts on making real-world logging feel more rewarding.

I run a small PC repair and maintenance business, and over the years I got tired of heavy, cloud-bloated backup software and complicated Robocopy scripts.

So I built my own solution: File Backup Tool.

Before publishing it to the Microsoft Store, this app had already been running for years on around 20 local client PCs with zero data loss. Even non-technical users picked it up immediately because the goal was simple: make backups easy and reliable.

I sketched this blueprint to solve a problem every founder has: The "Morning Inbox Dread".

I m trying to validate something specific before my Product Hunt in a few weeks.

Just wanted to start a thread to learn from and connect with more founders and builders in the Product Hunt community. I always enjoy discovering what people are building, so I thought I'd start.

We're building Myspec. The idea came from a problem we kept running into ourselves: AI can generate code incredibly fast, but it can't fix unclear thinking. We found ourselves constantly rewriting prompts, discovering missing requirements halfway through development, and realising everyone had a slightly different understanding of the product. So instead of asking AI to write better code, we built MySpec to help founders and developers turn rough ideas into structured, build-ready specifications before development even begins.
