Instead, we focused on something less visible but just as important: migrating our infrastructure to new servers and improving the foundation of the platform.
We also spent time refining the product, discussing design decisions, and planning the next stage of development.
Building a product isn't always about shipping. Sometimes it's about making sure the foundation is ready for what's coming next.
This has bugged me for years: macOS has no "New File" command in Finder. To drop a blank .txt/.md/.json into the folder I'm working in, I'd open an app, save an empty file, then move it or jump to Terminal and touch.
Genuinely curious how everyone else handles it: Automator Quick Action? BetterTouchTool? A Keyboard Maestro macro? Just live with Terminal?
Something I keep running into talking to non-technical founders: the AI tools (Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0) have basically solved the build step. People with zero coding background are shipping real apps now.
But the moment they try to get it actually live and keep it stable, everything falls apart. Custom domains, env vars that work locally and break in production, integrations that die on the server, apps that go down with no logs to explain why.
