We rebuilt FocusAI after realizing users were overwhelmed on Day 1
We launched @FocusAI on Product Hunt and quickly realized something important:
The AI-generated plans were useful, but the first day felt overwhelming before users even completed a single task.
So I spent the last two weeks rebuilding the experience around momentum first.
The new flow:
one task → one focus session → then the full dashboard unlocks.
I also redesigned the UI across the app, improved domain-aware planning, added editable milestones, milestone regeneration, learning resources, mobile optimization, and a much better focus experience overall.
I’m building FocusAI solo while still being a student, so a lot of this came directly from watching users struggle, listening to feedback, and rebuilding fast.
The goal is simple:
help people stop endlessly planning and actually start making progress.
Still early, but this version already feels significantly better than the first release.
Would genuinely love feedback from builders, students, creators, developers, or anyone trying to stay consistent.
