I built a 3D iPhone mockup app for indie devs and marketers

by

Hey everyone! I'm the maker of Protato — a native iOS & macOS app for creating 3D iPhone mockups.

The problem I was solving: Every app deserves a great first impression — but most mockups are flat, lifeless, and frankly forgettable. The kind that blend into the feed and get scrolled past in half a second.

Protato is super simple to use. You drop in a screenshot (or a screen recording), pick a lighting style, add a bit of motion if you want, and export. That’s it.

The iOS version is live on the App Store now, macOS is on its way.

There are free credits for you try it out with full functionality.

Great execution on this. As an agency building mobile apps at Mobiwolf, creating compelling visuals for App Store listings or client presentations is a constant bottleneck. We usually have to choose between flat, boring 2D screenshots or burning hours in After Effects for something dynamic.

Having a native app that handles 3D motion just by dropping in a screen recording is a massive time-saver for mobile teams. Are you planning to add features like bulk-exporting or template presets for specific App Store screenshot requirements, or are you keeping it strictly focused on single high-res exports for now?
