How do you actually know you're ready for a job interview for a specific role?
I'm building Olly, an AI career copilot, and one problem keeps coming up in conversations with job seekers: most people prepare hard but have no real way to tell if they're ready for the role they're targeting.
Practice questions and mock interviews help, but at the end you're usually left with a vague feeling of "I think I did okay."
I'd love to hear how others handle this:
- How do you judge your own readiness before an interview?
- Has a mock interview, a mentor, or feedback from a friend ever changed how you prepared? What made it useful?
- What would you want a readiness report to tell you that you can't easily find out today?
For context, we're experimenting with a Role Readiness Report that comes out of a mock interview, and I'm trying to work out what's actually useful versus noise. Honest opinions, including "this wouldn't help me," are welcome.
(Olly is at askolly.live if you want to see what I mean, but I'm here for the discussion.)
