Hi ProductHunt I'm building open payment network for vehicles - Would love some feedback!
Building the middleware + hardware to create an open payment network for vehicles, one tag and one wallet across: drive-thrus, parking decks, car washes, game-day lots, and your work parking deck (access only). Say you got a free windshield tag. It works like a highway toll tag, but for everyday places. You link a card once, then pull up and drive through without rolling the window down for payment. It connects directly to your loyalty program (where available). Would you put it on your car?
If yes, where would you use it first?
If no, what's the dealbreaker? Tracking, surprise charges, card security, a sticker on your glass, or too few places that take it?
Would you want to approve each charge, or just let it go through?
Do you already have a toll tag or a car wash club sticker? What do you like or hate about it?
Would you pay a small fee say $2.99/mo to have access exclusive deals in this merchant network? Eg. 10% at parking garages or your favorite fastfood chain.
Piloting with a fast-food chain but running into the chicken-and-egg problem: not enough drivers to get merchants, not enough merchants that drivers can use it at. Any ideas on which side you would seed first?
