Built SERP Preview Tool to simulate title pixel widths & meta descriptions—would love your feedback!

by•

Hey Product Hunt community! đź‘‹

When optimizing pages for search engines, writing great titles and meta descriptions is only half the battle. If a title exceeds Google’s pixel limits, it gets truncated with an ellipsis (...), which can harm organic click-through rates (CTR).

To help SEOs and webmasters preview exactly how their snippets will look on both Desktop and Mobile search results, I vibe-coded a fast, browser-based SERP Preview Tool.

Key features & capabilities:

  • Pixel Width & Character Tracking: Calculates title pixel widths in real-time to prevent unwanted truncation on Google SERPs.

  • Desktop vs. Mobile View Simulation: Instantly toggles layout views to reflect accurate display differences across devices.

  • Rich Snippet Mockups: Allows adding URL paths, publish dates, and rich elements to simulate realistic search result snippets.

  • 100% Client-Side: Processes everything instantly in your browser with zero server delay.

I built this lightweight utility using PHP and vanilla JS to streamline daily content optimization workflows. You can test it out directly here:

Question for SEOs & content strategists: What are your go-to tricks for writing high-CTR meta titles within strict pixel constraints? Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions for future features! 🚀

Thanks for checking out the tool! I'm planning to add dynamic rich snippet previews (like star ratings and FAQ schemas) in the next update. Feel free to give it a test run, drop any suggestions, or share your own micro-tools below! 🙌
