Building an appblocker because Apple's "Ignore Limit" was to easy to bypass
Hey everyone,
I had been having a hard time for couple of monts with doomscrolling on apps like Instagram and Reddit. Last year, I tried using Apple's built-in screen time on my iPhone to set limits to my usage of these apps. However, in most cases, I would just tap on the "Ignore Limit for 15 Minutes" notification that appeared every time.
This became so frustrating that I tried many third-party blockers. Most of them would require a local VPN to be installed, so draining the battery and having access to all of my traffic, which did not seem like a good privacy tradeoff to be honest.
Finally, I decided to build my own blocker, called Manaya.

Manaya does not rely on a VPN (so better battery) but rather uses Apple's native Family Controls API (it runs locally on your device) and completely removes the "Ignore Limit" button.
I am currently running Manaya in closed beta and collecting emails for a public launch.
I would love to hear from you guys!
