Building an AI chatbot that doesn't suck – what makes you abandon one immediately?

by

Hey PH fam 👋

I'm building an open-source AI chat widget for websites. The goal: one-line embed, strict answers from your own content (PDFs/URLs), auto-language detection for visitors, and simple pricing that doesn't cost $200/month.

Before I lock in the final features, I'd love to hear from you:

If you added a chatbot to your site tomorrow, what would make you close the tab and say "nope"?

  • Price too high?

  • Hallucinated answers?

  • Slow loading?

  • Bad UI?

  • Something else?

I've been using my own prototype on a few test sites and it's working well, but I know real-world feedback is where the gold is.

What's your biggest chatbot deal breaker? Looking forward to your stories—the good, the bad, and the ugly.
