WE NEED MULTIPLE MASKS AT THE SAME TIME!!!!! Auto Mask is cool but I want to be able to manually create as many masks as I want at any given time!!!!!

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, we will definitely add it.

Editing a screen recording by deleting words in the transcript is the feature that would finally stop me scrubbing a timeline for twenty minutes, and the automatic face and data blur is a nice safety net.

We hope this saves you time to focus on getting beautiful videos out faster :) If you've had a chance to try it, please let us know how it went

Thanks Kareem! Let us know how it works for you :)

The auto-blur for sensitive data is the feature I'm most curious about. Code walkthroughs often have strings that look like secrets but aren't (test fixtures, placeholder UUIDs, etc). Does it ever over-blur those, and is there a quick way to mark a region as "never blur" so it doesn't fight you mid-recording?

Hey Gal! Good question. Detection runs locally on your Mac, and with code it can sometimes catch strings that only look like secrets. It won’t fight you mid-recording though, since it’s applied in the editor afterwards and you can turn “Hide sensitive data” off there. Soon you’ll also be able to easily remove specific covers when you do want to show something.

good to hear it's a post-process pass, not something fighting you live. when the per-cover removal ships, does it remember the region across re-takes of the same recording, or is it a fresh toggle every export? re-marking the same fake API key every single take would get old fast.

congrats on the launch adam. edit by transcript is the one i waited for, cutting my ums on the timeline was always the slowest part. next i would love caption styles that follow the zoom, so vertical clips are ready without opening another tool

Thanks Agshin! Could you tell me a bit more about the caption idea? Not sure I got exactly what you mean.

sure. when the video zooms into a part of the screen the captions stay the same size at the bottom, and on a vertical clip they cover what i zoomed into. if the caption moved and scaled with the zoom it would be ready without fixing by hand

I was an early Screen Studio customer back when you could purchase a license outright. I genuinely loved the product and was happy to support it.

But the decision to move away from one-time purchases toward a subscription-only model for new customers really turned me off.

I understand that software development costs money and recurring revenue helps sustain a business. But not every piece of software needs to become another monthly subscription.

I’ve since switched to , which is completely free and open source. It handles the core features I need, including automatic zooms, smooth cursor animations, and polished screen recordings, without another recurring bill.

Screen Studio 4 looks impressive, and I wish the team continued success. But as someone who supported the product early on, I much prefer the original philosophy of buying software and owning a license rather than renting access indefinitely.
