Screen Studio 4.0 - Glass Loupe, Camera Cutout, Edit by Transcript, and more
The screen recorder for Mac that handles the hard parts: zooms, motion, sound, and framing.
Every demo and tutorial comes out polished.
What's new in 4.0:
- Glass Loupe, a zoom that magnifies one detail
- Split screen, also for vertical video
- Edit your video like you edit text
- Camera cutout: you, without your background
- Hide sensitive data and faces automatically
- Sharper zooms, ProRes, up to 4x faster exports, and more

Edit by Transcript sounds like a real time saver for tutorials. Does the face and data blur catch things in the middle of a moving window too?
@neerajnathany Yeah! It should even catch half-obscured things.
We hope this makes many people's workflows much, much faster. Where you previously had to manually cut out and animate masks with external programs, you now just toggle on a single option in the Screen Studio sidebar.
Disclaimer: in some cases, albeit rare, mistakes can happen of course. So please check the exported video once yourself.
These are cool but I’m more interested in features we’ve been asking for, for a long time like being able to import new video and audio or do voiceover recordings. Are they coming?
@bella_coco Thanks for the feedback! We are working right now on merging multiple projects and also adding voiceover.
@dawid_wilewski awesome! When will they roll out?
@pie6k Can this be considered comparable to Guidde?
@pie6k @mvrbabu Hi! There's some overlap, but they're built for different things. Guidde turns a workflow into step-by-step guides and docs. Screen Studio is a Mac app focused on making the video itself look great: automatic zooms, a smooth cursor, your camera, and editing it like text. The easiest way to compare is to try it: you can test the whole flow without buying or creating an account, only export needs a license. https://screen.studio/download
@pie6k @dawid_wilewski Sure, I understand. I went through your website, and it seems to be available only for macOS currently. I look forward to the Windows version!
Couldn't be more excited! Love the split screen layout for 9:16 social video's. Thanks for the great work!
@amber_haccou Good to hear that, Amber!
This is amazing! Loved using Screen Studio forever. The update seems like a great new version. Excited to test it out!
@ben_pflugpeil1Try using it and enjoy. Always appreciate the feedback :)
I am your paying customer:
- your shortcuts did not make sense (make them like other apps - use same shortuct for same function - e.g. Backspace for Delete? Use DELETE BUTTON!)
- UI is sexy but not intuitive! 😁
@merlindru Sure. When I use Screen Studio again I'll let you know exactly what pisses me off.
I just get a little bit sad reading these updated versions launches because i got the lifetime license thinking i would get those new things too :-(
@luis_arthur_lobo_meneses Please reach out to team@screen.studio, we'll see what we can do to help you out!
nice does it work with claude
@shafeel_ahamed1 We are testing MCP in beta, and you can connect it to Claude Code as well.
@pie6k Adam, I’m one of your early adopters and have always loved your tool, but in many cases I struggled on my MBA M3, especially with audio/video not being properly synchronized. I also waited ages to export recordings to video. But wow, man... Version 4 is next level! The app is super fast and responsive, and I couldn’t even sip my coffee during the export. Congratulations on the product and thank you! Thanks to you, our SaaS looks way more professional even with a small team and budget.
@pie6k @roman_mastalir1 Apologies for the issue you experienced, and thank you for the feedback.
Everything is absolutely perfect for my needs... except one thing: I would love to be able to adjust the position of the subtitles. It currently overlaps the toolbar on LinkedIn and IG. Great product!
@chris_kitzmiller1 Hey! we already have it:
