Hello! We’re excited to share Scoutflo’s latest launch - Scoutflo Deploy 🚀 The why: Deploying open source products and self-hosting them is no easy feat. Because self-hosting is NOT self-serve. [Note: Self-hosting is the practice of running and maintaining a website or service using a private web server, instead of using a service outside of someone's own control.] With Scoutflo Deploy, you can completely automate the self-hosting process of commercial open source products on your own cloud — in just a few clicks. It dramatically reduces your need for (extensive) Devops support. All the heavy lifting is taken care of, while you sit back and focus on using the tool to meet your needs. - Application Installation - Addition or creation of your cluster - Release management (or updates) - Security fixes - Integrations and configuration - Maintenance This tool makes all of this and more, easier and much more efficient. It effectively challenges the conventional journey of trying to adopt an open source product: - Going through the product documentation - Understanding the specifics - Manually executing the steps - Ensuring you have the right technical expertise (in your team) - Spending time, resources and $$$ … and ALL the hassle that comes with them. *The current Beta version lists 20 COSS products to choose from. Congrats on the launch @vedant4510 & team!! Scoutflo Deploy sounds like an exciting tool to automate self-hosting of commercial open source products. I love the idea of reducing the need for DevOps support and saving time, costs, and effort. As an open-source developer myself building an open-source product (https://inlang.com), we're also thinking about self-hosting from time to time but haven't made the jump yet. 😅 We're building globalization infrastructure (i18n & more) for software. I'm curious to know if Scoutflo Deploy supports a wide range of COSS products or if there are any limitations in terms of compatibility. Also, are there any specific cloud infrastructure providers that are currently supported? I recently came across this resource on how you could build a Google-like ecosystem all based on OSS: [https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhos...]. It might be too overly ambitious to ask if then management of such an ecosystem could be achieved through Scoutflo? 🤔 Looking forward to hearing more about Scoutflo Deploy and how it can make self-hosting COSS products a breeze!

If you’re planning to build self-hosted versions for your tool, we’d be happy to have a chat! In terms of compatibility, we support COSS products that are compatible with Kubernetes, and currently support AWS EKS. However we do plan to support several cloud platforms in the future! The Reddit post you shared is very interesting, since we are exploring the idea of building stacks of OSS tools, packaging them together in a bundle and then helping them deploy it on a k8s cluster with a few simple clicks, which would otherwise be a complex and tedious deployment if done manually by a DevOps team! This aligns with our idea of building stacks for specific use cases, like the one mentioned in the Reddit thread, thanks for sharing! Currently we support AWS EKS for deployments, while we do allow some level of customisation at this point, in terms of the instance types and the node scaling configuration. We plan to add more layers of customisation along with more cloud providers as well in the near future!
