I built SafeRoute because every walking-nav app optimizes for the fastest route — but sometimes, late at night on an unfamiliar street, you'd trade two minutes for the safer one. SafeRoute scores every route from live crime data — data.police.uk in the UK, and each city's official open data across 7 US cities (NYC, Chicago, SF, Boston, Seattle, Philadelphia, DC). It weighs severity, proximity, time of day, and how well-lit the streets are, then labels each path LOW / MODERATE / HIGH so you choose with full context. What I care about: • Privacy-first — no accounts, no ads, routes aren't stored, analytics anonymous + opt-out • Adapts to where you are — right emergency number (999/911), local safe spaces, correct data source • For the walk home — share your live location, off-route alerts on Apple Watch, an arrival check-in Free on the App Store.
