I have 165 day streak today and ~1.3K followers on Product Hunt...
Something I couldnāt really brag about just 5 months ago =D
And Iām trying to understand deeper - what is this day streak? What does it give? And why do we keep it?
The first thing I guess is consistency.
And consistency leads to unavoidable success in everything in this life!
Being every single day in one environment shapes you better than many other things.
Day by day, you become more familiar with it, start recognizing people, patterns, every little corner of it... =)
I can definitely say Iām a little different (better) than I was 165 days ago !

@adanaĀ I launched on Wednesday, and it was a thrilling experience! It was my first launch, and I was happy to finish 47th on Hypership Day.
Iām currently doing a 12-week challenge where I ship a product every 2 weeks.
So expect a second launch in 2 weeks!

@adana congrats on 165! I'm at 28 days myself.
I actually poked around Reddit and a few other places too, but Product Hunt is where I feel most at home. Even as a newcomer, people here make you feel welcome, and you're the one who got that started for me.
And yes, once there's a number like a day streak, you just want to keep it going! A while back I got curious and looked at the rankings. The longest streak right now is @jesv 's at 1,795 days, which is amazing. And our own @busmark_w_nika is 8th with 1,410 days. Cheering for her!

Thatās an awesome achievement. And itās definitely true! If you show up every single day, people eventually start noticing you. I think I first started recognizing your account after seeing you active for 50ā60 days straight. The more consistently you show up, the more familiar your name becomes.
And Iām pretty sure you can hit 1,000 days.
Iām currently at 724 days, but realistically, it wouldāve been closer to 900. Since day one on Product Hunt, I havenāt actually gone a full day without checking it.
I only lost my streak once because of the way the Product Hunt day resets. I checked early in the morning European time one day, then late in the evening the next day, so technically I missed the reset window by an hour or two.
For me personally, the streak gives me a few things:
Discipline. I know Iām going to open Product Hunt every single day.
Motivation to keep climbing the streak leaderboard. Although at some point that becomes almost impossible, because once people get past 500+ days, pretty much everyone shows up every single day š
A reason not to skip a day. Even if Iām busy, Iāll still open PH and see whatās happening.
And I definitely canāt complain: showing up every day has also given me the chance to meet so many incredible builders and founders from all over the world.

Hey Adana, trying to hand out here as much as possible. The current day is 1410, and for me, it is not only about visiting the platform.
I love getting in touch with new users and being among the first to try the very new technology (before it comes to my country). So I feel several steps ahead. :D

Consistency really is underrated once a habit becomes part of your daily routine it gets much easier to keep going

@adanaĀ 90 days is a solid milestone and I wasnāt this active before either but now Iām here almost every day I havenāt made any big profit from it yet but Iāve built some really good connections people recognize me here and some even connect with me on LinkedIn themselves I enjoy interacting with them a lot

@adanaĀ Yeah, this has happened to me many times too. I donāt even do anything sometimes and clients just come to me on their own. I guess staying consistent and active really does create opportunitiesHopefully the same happens here too and your bet pays off and we both end up making some profit from it
