đź“° Do product websites need a Blog today?
After launching RunEvr, we started getting a lot of offers related to blog post creation.
But we had already designed our own blog mechanism earlier, even before the launch.
We’re working on this ourselves right now. We even built our own CMS to make it easy to create, review, and publish posts directly to our blog.
But one thing is important to us: the blog belongs to us.
We want to create our own sections, write about things that are genuinely relevant to RunEvr, and share what we actually want to talk about - not just publish random articles because “every website needs a blog.” =)
We’re about to start publishing, and we’re curious to see whether it actually helps increase traffic to our product page from people who are genuinely interested in what we’re building.
So I’d love to hear from the community:
Do product websites need a blog today?
How do you choose your topics - and who actually writes the posts?

@adana What I think is a blog can definitely help, but only when the content actually has something to say. Writing about real product lessons, decisions , and things your users care about feels much more valuable than publishing just for Seo . But I wanna see what works for you\me

@grace_young2 That’s exactly why I mentioned that we haven’t published anything on our blog yet - we don’t want to create content just for AI crawlers.
We’re preparing by creating personal posts around the topics and problems we care about. I guess it might work =)

@elen_tovmasian Thanks for sharing our thoughts =)
Product use cases can be really valuable and useful for search engines as well, I guess. I really liked that direction!

@gor_geghamyan I’m grateful you shared this! It’s really useful stuff and definitely gave me something to think about.
And it’s great that I got to learn about your product, Gor. Are you planning to launch it here on PH?

My new website will have blog because I think that topics (problems) people are trying to solve, can bring some traffic, increase domain authority and help with being quoted by LLMS.

@busmark_w_nika Are you going to write the content yourself?
There are now two audiences for blog posts though - real users, and AI agents. It's become very difficult (unless you have a pre-existing audience) to know who you are writing for. Most SEO agencies I've worked with have always said "try and write at least 1 blog post a week", but with agentic consumption, who knows?
I have a technical blog, probably writing to an audience of 1, but then I am writing for a technical audience that might be interested in the detail. Churning out blog post after blog post of uninteresting, generic copy for agents and crawlers to consume in the hopes it might get leads doesn't seem very appealing to me.
I don't even know if I will add blog section to NamedAtlas, because I don't know what useful content I could share there?

@matthewabbottdev And how are you planning to increase your visibility and make your content more discoverable by crawlers?
