RemitIndex - Skyscanner for remittances

I was sending money home and noticed that my current provider was worse than a new remittance provider in the space. I was losing ~2.5% on every transfer for essentially sending my tax paid, hard earned money which is bonkers in todays day and age. $800B moves in remittances annually and most senders trust whatever's in front of them. The information asymmetry is massive. I thought building a comparison tool makes a lot of sense and people can see who the best provider for their corridor would be. It was a decent challenge where rates change by the minute, fees are hidden behind layers, and providers structure their pricing to make comparison hard. Getting clean, normalized, real-time data was the real problem to solve. Still early, but the goal is simple: the next person sending money home shouldn't need to toggle 10 different remittance apps to get a fair rate.
