In today’s job market, referrals are everything.

But the way we do them?
Completely unstructured.

Candidates are told to “network harder,” while:

  • Referrers get random DMs

  • There’s no standard format

  • Good referrals get lost in chats

  • Nothing is reusable

  • And hiring teams get inconsistent signals

It’s a system full of effort, but very little clarity.

I built Referee to explore a different approach:
what if referrals were structured, trackable, and scalable?

Would that make hiring better or remove what makes referrals valuable in the first place?
