I'm building a structured database of the world's recipes — starting from YouTube

by

Hi, I'm a solo developer from Korea.

Built this with Flutter and Firebase — web, iOS, and Android from one codebase.

It started simple. I got tired of pausing and rewinding YouTube cooking videos, so I built an app that extracts a full recipe from just a URL.

But as I kept building, I saw something bigger.

YouTube has countless recipes — Korean grandma's kimchi jjigae, Japanese ramen technique, Mexican family recipes passed down for generations — all locked behind language barriers.

If we extract, translate, and accumulate this as structured data, it can later be refined into something beyond a recipe app — a foundation for AI cooking assistants and even cooking robots.

Right now I'm on the first step — collecting and organizing global recipes with community reviews.

Launched on Product Hunt today. If you have a favorite cooking video, share the link.

I'll run it through and show you how it looks.
