I like very much how the dialog style makes the casts a lot more listenable than straight article readings. Well done! If you need a way to get articles read to you as podcasts, this is definitely worth a try
thanks Joerg, you nailed the use case here! 🀘
Incredible product - congratulations on its launch! I feel truly privileged to have played a small role in this remarkable journey. Kudos to the team! πŸš€πŸŽ‰
thanks for your kind words :)
Very interesting product. Nice work!
thank you Matt! πŸ™
Books are great, but sometimes you just want to allow your eyes have some rest and listen to a book. Congrats on your launch, guys!
amen, Alex! Thanks for your support 🀘
Love this idea so much. As someone who listens to podcasts while driving, Recast can be a game-changer for me. Definitely going to give it a try. Congrats Adam and team on the launch πŸ‘πŸΌ
thanks Sharath! πŸ’ͺ
😹 LOL
Can't wait to try this out. The team behind Recast is about a sure thing as peak-era Barry Bonds (and I highly doubt the Recast team is juicin', but even if they were... would it matter?)
take your LOL award, good sir.
πŸ’‘ Bright idea
Really interesting to have long articles explained and reduce my overall screen time. I I wish I could ask it questions to go into more details about a specific section. I’m interested in knowing how it selects what’s important and what interpretation is placed on the article. What value judgements might it place on sometime about abortion or other polarizing topics?
What kind of questions would you ask? Right now we try to keep the presentation unbiased, meaning it represents whatever the author of the input article represented. If it was opinionated with a slant, that would come through. In the future, we'd like to explore our hosts having more set and ongoing personas that have their own lens on the world that users could either come to understand like a specific podcast host, or maybe they'd want to configure their own hosts. Not sure how it would feel, but can't wait to get in the R&D lab and try a few approaches on for size. More broadly, you're touching on two out of a larger set of advancements to content transformation that we think deserve to be pursued, at least as far as R&D to find out if it's good or terrible! The recast you see today is very much a version 1, just to get going and to enable our team to earn the right to keep building.
I listened to a recast about Amazon and how it effects small business. I wanted to know more about what the author had said in regards to Amazon requiring that the price on Amazon was the lowest anywhere the business sold. It would be nice to be able to ask Recast to expand on that section of the article after or during listening to the overall summary.
ahhh, makes sense! While free form Q&A feels a bit double edged, this specific case could maybe be solved with simply expandable sections or levels of detail, which is something we'd want to get to more near term!
Congratulations, so happy for your product luaunhc.
cheers πŸ˜„

Already a user, just listen to recasts now. Will be using Chrome Ext. for capturing articles and Recast for myself. Love listening experience.
