I have been testing it for a few months before the release, and I can say I absolutely cannot live without it, It has completely replaced my use of Apple Notes 😁 Looking forward to the iOS app, especially if notes can be shared with it. I’m so happy to see it live. Kudos to the team!

@mattisssa Thanks for testing it and yes, notes for iOS will come.

Congrats on the launch, Raycast Notes team! Raycast Notes sounds perfect for keeping thoughts organized without all the extra steps—really love the lightweight approach. How does it handle large note collections or organizing them over time? Would be cool to see how it keeps things clutter-free as notes pile up!
Petr Nikolaev
@davidcardenas thanks for the support! Raycast Notes are best for lightweight, ephemeral notes that you don't necessarily need to store for a very long time. If you reach the point where you have a lot of complex documents that you need to organize, it might be best to move them to proper knowledge-based products like Notion. Later we might add some convenience for exporting to other products.

@petr_nikolaev Ah! I see. Thanks for the quick response! Excited to try out Raycast Notes.

Congrats! A well-designed, user-friendly gadget! Where is the data from Notes stored? It would be great if it could be saved to existing apps like Bear or Notion that I already use.
Thomas Paul Mann
@bonvisions Notes are stored encrypted, locally with an option to sync them across Macs with an active Pro subscription. You can export notes to Markdown to import in other note-taking apps. For now we don't have plans to sync with other note-taking apps.

For a moment I was shocked when the “toggle floating notes window” option was suddenly gone this morning. I thought you had killed my favorite feature and deleted my data in the process 😱 You can’t imagine the relief when I saw that it was just replaced by Raycast Notes and my old notes were still there. Thanks for making one of Raycast’s best features even better!
Thomas Paul Mann
@maresch Ah yeah, I can feel that shock :D But we took the opportunity to simplify the two commands and combine it into just one. Something we wanted to do for a while. Let us know how you like the new experience!

@thomaspaulmann really enjoying it! Just one piece of feedback so far: I’m not a big markdown user and it took me a while to discover the “Show format buttons” option. I’m glad this option exists but it’s a lot of mouse movement for simple formatting which gets tedious. I guess I could just get used to markdown but having formatting options appear when text is selected would be more intuitive for me.

It's really good. Well worth the wait.

@johanbakken great to hear!

Congrats on the launch! Excited to see the updates! But I wonder whether you consider launch it on Google Play
Per Nielsen Tikær
@linda_yanlin Thank you 🫶 Unfortunately, releasing on Google Play is not something we're aiming for at the moment. The first in line would be Windows and iOS before eventually reaching more platforms

@pernielsentikaer Thanks for your reply!

damn what a release - any chance Raycast Notes will be integrated with Apple Notes at some point? Maybe a Shortcut workaround?
Per Nielsen Tikær
@viet_le Thanks for the kind words 🫶 How would that work if you could decide? Just trying to get some more context 🙂
Petr Nikolaev
@viet_le for what it's worth, we'll add a "Share..." action shortly which will allow exporting to Apple Notes

Congrats @michael_nielsen ✨ inspiring as always!

@michael_nielsen @lisa_cosme Yes, I agree ― he truly did an amazing job here 🫶
Great addition. Tot has 7 floating notes. Can you please increase the limit to at least 10? 5 is kinda too low.
Thomas Paul Mann
@wpgaurav Tot is great! We don't have immediate plans to increase the number of notes but with a Pro subscription you get unlimited notes plus a whole lot more: AI, unlimited clipboard history, custom window management, etc.
