Hey Product Hunt πŸ‘‹ I'm Nichlas from the Raycast team. We've been working on Ray.so to help you create beautiful images of your code, shareable with the world! Ray.so started out as a hackday project, which has now developed in to a tool we hope many of you will use. Choose from the syntax theme options; toggle between dark and light mode; choose whether to have a background or not; select the padding that works for you; save and share. We'd love to get your feedback and suggestions for what else we could do to make Ray.so even better for you. Happy to answer any questions! 😁
Looks awesome! Would love to have a "Copy to clipboard" button as well as a "Download" button (for pasting to Slack, etc.).
Thanks Isaac! Great idea, we will be adding more export options soon, and this would be a nice addition :)
Would you consider an aspect ratio option? Sharing 16/9 images on Twitter lets us avoid the infamous crop πŸ™‚
it's awesome!
hey how can I add copy button kinda thing which on clicked, copies the whole snippet?
Hey PH folks, thanks for the hunt and it's great to be back. You can grab a script command to create images of the code you have in your clipboard from here:
Looks amazing!
Thanks a lot! We wanted to make it look stunning to enjoy using it.
Great job folks. This is sound interesting. Keep up the good work.
not right now. Itβ€˜s just a URL that opens the tool preconfigured. Later we might introduce some API to download images. No plans yet.
Isn't this just a clone of Carbon?
We wanted to make it easy to get a good looking image of your code and settled on fewer options with curated colors.
Sounds great! Something I've been missing on carbon, is image size presets. When sharing code pics on twitter, it's hoping for the best that the cropped result looks nice. Size presets could improve that experience.
Oh that is a brilliant suggestion! Gonna consider it when we add the share on Twitter feature.
I like carbon and have used it a bit, but ray.so is cleaner to me!!! What do you like about Carbon, instead of this?!!?
Simple and clean. The keyboard shortcuts make it so easy.
Access everything with keyboard shortcuts, the Raycast way :-)
Looks incredible!😍
Thanks! Can't wait to see your TypeScript code on twitter :-P
Looks nice. Would love to see an offline version / native app for macOS.
Not sure about offline but we want to provide an API at some point and integrate it into Raycast.
THIS is a good news! I'm giving it a try, looks cool!
Looks awesome! Considered building this into a react element to get beautiful embedded code snippets in any app? ;)
Cool idea! We had iFrames in mind but React components are maybe the modern way of embedding something.
HIGHLY suggest react.
This is super cool! I was thinking about working on something similar but for marketers to be able to showcase their work. Great inspiration here.
Cool idea! What do marketers shares mostly? Quotes? Diagrams?
I have a couple ideas. I followed you on Twitter! Maybe we can connect there and brainstorm something based on your experience with Raycast and Ray? Lmk!
Always happy to ping-pong ideas. Feel free to send a DM.
your DM's are closed!
oops, updated
Pretty cool! Looks like something we could have used for our PH launch of Reshift today!
Thanks. Great to see Reshift makes code more secure!
Love it! Such a great product! Can’t wait to get gitlab and Airtable in there!
I assume integrating with Raycast ;-) We have a few script for GitLab (). Airtable should be doable with an API that we're working on.
Signed up for developer access and we will make it happen!
That's the spirit!
