Quick Translator - Fast, Easy, Light Translation App for MacOS

I built QuickTranslate because I was tired of constantly switching between apps just to translate small pieces of text. Copying text, opening a browser, pasting it, and switching back every time felt like a small but constant interruption in my workflow. I wanted a tool that felt instant and natural to use, something that worked right where I already was. That’s why I focused on a simple shortcut and a lightweight floating interface that could be accessed from anywhere on macOS. At first, the app was very simple, just basic detection and translation. But while building it, I realized that speed and smoothness mattered more than adding a lot of features. My process shifted toward keeping things minimal, fast, and reliable instead of complex. Over time, I started thinking more about real-world usage, not just my own. People translate quick messages, websites, code, and documents. That shaped how the UI and flow evolved. In the end, QuickTranslate came from a simple goal: make translation feel effortless and part of your normal workflow, not a separate task.
