A year in: we tracked 34,382 backlink placements and only 36% got indexed

PromoPilot launched here a year ago as a link-building tool, so here's the most useful thing our data taught us since.

From day one we checked every placement for one thing: did Google actually index the page that links to the customer? Across 34,382 placements, 36.3% of linking pages ended up indexed. The rest are live, look fine, and pass nothing.

What it changed for us: we stopped reporting "published" (every report shows each placement's URL and whether it's indexed), we dropped dozens of platforms whose pages rarely get indexed, and the product moved toward Search Console data. The new SEO Radar lists the pages that already rank 4–20 and estimates the clicks they miss, because pushing those up beats chasing link counts.

Curious how others handle this: do you check whether the links you build actually get indexed, and how?
