Continuing to work on my video conferencing application (to start with : ) )

It was really annoying to sometimes get dropped after 40/60 minute mark while having an important discussion. Thought I build one for myself, Convonet Going well so far. Have to work on some additional features and a refactored back-end.

Jake Crump

@umarfrq Interesting! If you're building a video conferencing app, I bet @rajiv_ayyangar has some advice!

Umar Farooq

Thanks @jakecrump . Do try when you get the opportunity, it will be nice to have feedback

@rajiv_ayyangar would be great to hear from you.

I've been making bagel categories using bagelly icons, trying out the airbnb style..this is an RSS aggregator thing I use in my other projects. Fun for a friday! did a quick vid here: https://x.com/graeme_fulton/status/1923371069894779137

Tijs Teulings

@graeme_fulton lot of work to have an excuse to make bagel icons! But it looks cool, the feeds are just your personal favorites?

Graeme

@_tijs yeah a lot of pointless work haha, just done that for fun. Here's the figma: https://www.figma.com/design/a7cFyq9csOQmOHw976tEMQ/Untitled?node-id=1-98&t=evcy6VNSrNyVMUnN-1

just made with chatgpt, but still takes a bit of time..

The feeds are just from absolutely everywhere, some have been submitted, and some imported from OPML files which have curated RSS feeds

Tijs Teulings

@graeme_fulton ah nice, you managed to get decent cohesion for the different bagels.

Graeme

@_tijs haha yehh maybe I can evolve it into something even more bagelly and original, but it still feels disingenuous generating with AI...how do you find all that?

I think it's good to see this type of fun stuff come back to UI on the web at least

Arthur West

hey, cool thread! we are buiding ideahunt.app, a place to discover AI-vetted startup ideas from pain points sourced from Reddit and Hacker News! It's basically a big vetted startup idea database that gets updated daily based on real user pain points found in online discssions.

Jake Crump

@c_arthur_west_iv I really like this idea. I feel like I see 'request for product' style tweets and posts a lot. Very cool to aggregate them in one spot.

I'm curious, what is the AI vetting process doing? Is it cleaning up the requests and grouping them together?

Arthur West

@jakecrump Exactly, it categorizes them and them groups them by topic: SaaS, education, entertainment etc. you can learn more about the process on the landing page :)

Jake Crump

@c_arthur_west_iv Very cool! Also, I like the total Total Startup Ideas quick update. Gives it a very nice realtime feel. Nice touch ✨

Edward Michaelson

@c_arthur_west_iv not a bad idea if you can nail the vetting. If I were building this I'd probably offer for free and monetize through adsense and/or upsells. I say that b/c I'm reluctant to pay $99 for something when I know most startup ideas are trash. I think most founders who are willing to invest in themselves (i.e. pay for this resource) also know that, so your pool of founders willing to pay for this may be pretty small. could be wrong though! How are sales so far?

Working on splitbi.com

Jake Crump

@rsmrahul Any particular features you're working on or looking to add?

Rahul R

@jakecrump I have just launched the product. Yet to get real users, so not adding new features, but will add new features once got some real users and based on their suggestion. This week I am looking in to any defects and minor UI changes.

Jaisal Rathee

Yooo thanks for doing this Jake! I'm building tinystartups.com -- a "tiny" launch platform and alternative to Product Hunt.

Jake Crump

@jaisalr Very cool! Just took a look and I really like the aesthetic. Any upcoming features you're working on?

Jaisal Rathee

@jakecrump Thanks Jake! Means a lot coming from you. Working on user dashboards + community features

i am making chainfessions where you can confess your crypto sins anonymously! well i already made it today is the launch day!

This weekend, I’m wrapping up the iOS version, beside Anroid version of NewsMate — an AI-powered news assistant that delivers smart, personalized, real-time summaries, auto swipe and play audio, reads them aloud.

Think of it as turning the daily news into a hands-free, intelligent experience — perfect for busy modern users who want to stay informed anytime, anywhere without the noise. 🎧📱

Already testings on Android — now bringing the magic to iOS!

What are you building?

How do you stay updated with the news — and what frustrates you most about it?

I’d love to hear how you consume news and what you'd want from a tool like this! 💬

Cheers,
Valhun

Juan Secchi

@valhun I struggle to find a good source for staying updated on the news. My biggest frustration with AI-focused news products is that after catching up on the day's headlines, I often feel like I've just skimmed through a lot of headlines without really understanding the content of the articles. I know it must be challenging to strike a balance that keeps people informed without overwhelming them or requiring them to spend an entire hour just absorbing the news. Those are my two cents! I’ll give NewsMate a try. Have you already launched it on Product Hunt?

Jean Willame

Currently working on process-flow.io to revolutionize the way company document their procedure ! There is so much to do ! This weekend, we are working on the Chrome extension to allow users to bring their processes to where the work truly happens! Happy building :)

Juan Secchi

@jean_willame That sounds really useful! I can think of many positions I held over the years where documentation was a significant pain point. I'm quite curious and will definitely try it once you launch!

Bismayy Mohapatra

Hey fellow makers and hunters, this weekend I am adding a simulation mode for the AI live interview assistant. I received this feedback from users that the AI assistant can be overwhelming to use directly during their live interview without a practice or simulation mode.

I've created the designs using Visily and teamed up with my developer to integrate the feature into our existing codebase. Expecting to be ready for launch by the end of next week.

Scheduling to launch on Product Hunt next month. Fingers crossed.

Jake Crump

@bismayy_mohapatra Oh interesting, that is a good point. I can imagine it would be kind of tough to use an AI assistant for the first time during a live interview. That's a great idea!

Salim Dabanca

Since I completed the mvp of Notato app, I'm seding pitch deck to potential angel investors this weekend :)

Jake Crump

@salim_dabanca The quiz and flash card feature is a good idea. I would have loved having this back in college.

Salim Dabanca

@jakecrump Thank you Jake, you are super supportive!
