What good timing for the teams behind both Polymail and Boxy with Mailbox announcing its end! I manage 10+ email accounts daily and so I'm as much an addict of inbox zero as I am an addict of all the desktop mail clients that promise to deliver it. Mailbox, Airmail, Postbox, on and on. And now Polymail. I've been in the alpha testing for less than a week and have been really impressed with design, interactions, small but useful feature set, and the energy of the team behind Polymail. Props to you all! Why Polymail over Boxy? There are two BIG things IMHO that make Polymail a better client than Boxy: 1. IMAP support (a feature promised soon in Polymail but outside the feature set of Boxy) and 2. UNIFIED INBOX (currently implemented in Polymail but outside the feature set of Boxy) Polymail over Airmail? Maybe not a fair comparison since Airmail is so much more mature. But Airmail also feels a bit more bloated and inconsistent. Looking forward to this battle continuing to be waged.

The timing couldn't have been better for Polymail. As one of the many Mailbox for Mac users scrambling for a new email client after Monday's Dropbox announcement, I didn't have high hopes. After trying several alternatives and even considering a move back to the default Mail App. I stumbled upon Polymail and signed up to try the Alpha. I've only been using the app for 2 days now and I'm sold. As I told the Polymail team, I was hoping to find an even replacement for Mailbox, but Polymail is a big upgrade. So far, the app has been snappy, stable and the keyboard shortcuts already have me archiving, snoozing and replying to email faster than I ever did with Mailbox. Best of all, I get to keep the same inbox 0 approach to managing multiple email accounts that I've become accustomed to. The one piece of the puzzle that's missing for me is the mobile component. Even without an iOS client though, I'd still choose Polymail any day over that other email client that we'll all soon forget.

@jasongraphix Thanks Jason! Glad you upgraded! Excited to share that last piece with you soon!

Been using Polymail for the past few days (since Mailbox showed up dead in the water) and I have been very impressed. Polymail already (in alpha) pretty much meets feature parity with Mailbox. Snooze, easy shortcuts, multiple inbox support, and lists were things that I wanted and few services could provide. What I also got was email tracking, easy unsubscribing, a beautifully clean and intuitive interface, and send later. This would have been exciting to me, and I probably would have told my coworkers about it. The thing that has been impressive about Polymail is that you're getting more than the product. Mailbox was a product, heck any app I download is pretty much just the product. The issue tracker for Mailbox was pretty much an elephant's graveyard where all users' wishes went to die. With Polymail, about 2 minutes after I received my alpha invite I received a slack invite, and within 24 hours I was on their Trello board, upvoting ideas and suggesting my own. @bshins, @foolywk, and @shahan312 are incredibly active and accessible. A product is what I expected, I've been welcomed into a community of people dedicated to making email a productive, beautiful experience. And that's really, really awesome.

All I can do is reiterate what others have said. I have been Alpha testing for a number of days now and it is by far the best mail client I have ever used - and it's still in Alpha! As soon as you open it, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the design of it, but it has not been overthought - it is perfect. It is minimalist, yet obvious what everything does. It is laid out like you would expect a mail client to look, but yet it looks like no other mail client. Everything from the position of the icons to the look of the popup menus have been well thought-out - and this shows. Along the side of an email you get an 'Interactions' pane, that shows previous conversations between yourself and the currently selected recipient - ideal if you need to jump back and forth between threads that I so often have to do. You also have an 'Attachments' pane that shows previous attachments sent by that contact. This is a godsend, as a web developer who receives a number of attachments from customers, it allows me to pluck attachments, without scrolling back through previous threads or searching my inbox. The 'Snooze' button on emails is extremely useful. Inbox and Mailbox users are probably use to this functionality, but if you haven't used it before you will wonder how you use to manage! Fed up of scrolling to the bottom for an unsubscribe link? If Polymail detects an unsubscribe link, it will place a button at the top alongside the other options. Clicking this will open your web browser and take you straight to that emails unsubscribe link! I only found this out today and its awesome! It is amazing the functionality built into Polymail at this early stage and the reliability is just as amazing, considering it is Alpha! The devs actually listen to users and are so quick to fix any bugs. They fixed a bug I had within 24 hours of reporting it, and we are in different timezones!. - I have to mention @bshins who you will find floating around Slack helping and answering any questions, he has been extremely helpful. One of the best apps I have found.

Polymail's the first third-party email client for Mac that I've been excited about in a long time. For an alpha build, I'm already pleasantly surprised at how stable it is. For those of us inbox-zero devotees lamenting Mailbox's demise, Polymail is the clear successor. It's already better than Mailbox's Beta for Mac. I've even been using this longer than I've tried Airmail!

@jadanzzy Thank you Dan! We love BNR!

Absolutely love this product, it's simplicity is what I want. I find most mail alternatives try too hard with too many features, this bogs down the UX with useless features that confuse the whole app.. This on the other hand is true to its idea and simple and a Joy to use. Bluntly put. Fucking awesome. If your like me and went scrambling for an alternative to mailbox now that Dropbox has become huge dicks.. Then this is the app, don't mess about trying the others they are just confused.

@intothemild Thank you Daniel! We'll make sure to stay true to making Polymail a joy to use!
