Hi Product Hunt! I’m Dan, cofounder and CEO of Plus. We’re really excited to launch the Plus New Tab on Product Hunt today and to hear the community’s feedback. First, what is Plus and how does it work? 💻 The average business today uses ~100 different apps, but it’s a mess to keep track of information across 100 different tools. Staying on top of everything requires constantly navigating between apps and websites on a regular basis. 💡 Plus lets you take live Snapshots of any app (think of a screenshot that automatically stays up to date) and embed them in the productivity tools you use every day. ✅ This lets you bring all your tools into one place as easily as taking a screenshot. What about the Plus New Tab? 🖥️ The new tab view is the most accessible part of your browsing experience, but it's also often very underutilized space. ✅ The Plus New Tab lets you pin your live Snapshots to a feed in your new tab. So all you have to do to access your personalized dashboard is open a new tab to stay on top of everything. Try it out and ask questions! 🆓 Plus is free to use while we’re in public beta. Eventually we’ll add premium features, but the core functionality will always be free. 🤝 What we ask in return is your help and feedback as we continue to build and improve on the product experience. 🗣️ Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Thanks! @alex_carry2

@danielxli Congrats on the launch Dan! I spend 10-15%+ of my time logging in and opening new tabs to see updated info - this is a game changer! Are you gonna come out with Firefox extension soon?
Dan Li
Haha yes that's perfect. This is the tool for you, @swapdp_01!! No firefox extension yet but listening to customer feedback on what browsers people use. Right now, we support all Chromium browsers, so that includes most of the browsers our users use (Chrome, Edge, Arc, Brave).
Swapnil D Puranik
@danielxli Awesome! I knew that my Firefox tribe is a minority user base for most SaaS...kinda used to it! 😮‍💨
Dan Li
Hahaha sorry @swapdp_01. Very true. You can still use our web app though - you just won't be able to add new Snapshots from Firefox

I love the idea! Congrats guys on the launch. Probably quite helpful and make the new tabs less boring. Will definitely try it and give you some feedback from my side then.
Daniel Øllgaard
@huy_doan_quang thank you for the message! We think so - everyone has been using our new tab consistently since we launched internally. We look forward to your feedback!
Kevin Zweerink
Thanks @huy_doan_quang! Hope to hear from you soon!

Hey! Wonderful idea! How long did it take you to build it?
Dan Li
it's take quite a while @pausx! our team has been working on this since 2021
Paul Sobiecki
@danielxli Wow! I am so happy guys for the launch! It's a huge day for such a long-taking project :) It took me a little bit shorter to build mine and so you must be even more happy to see it launched than everytime I release an update to mine! Congrats once again!
Leo Wendler
@danielxli love this product. This will be my new morning routine ;)
Daniel Øllgaard
@leo_wendler we love to hear this! Everyone at the company has had it as part of our morning routines since we launched it internally as well

Hey there, I was checking out your product and I think the feature that captures updated screenshots of webpages is really cool! It could be super useful for tracking price changes, monitoring news updates, and keeping tabs on social media engagement. I was wondering if you're planning to add any additional features to make it even more valuable? Maybe something like real-time alerts or a comparison tool? For instance, a way to look at how metrics have changed, or for example to look at a website that estimates app downloads and get updates on that, etc. Also, I'm curious to know if you've received any feedback from users on how they're using this feature, and if there are any specific use cases that have surprised you? Lastly, I'm interested to know what your long-term vision is for this product, and how you see this feature fitting into that vision? Thanks for creating such a cool product and looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Daniel Øllgaard
@daveneur thank you for your thoughtful note and questions, really appreciate it! I second Marco's response - one of the things we're particularly excited about is the breadth of use cases that our product has. In terms of how this feature fits in - we recognized that the new tab is the most easily accessible place on our users' browser, so it seems like a great place to let our users start consolidating all those disconnected tools there!
David
Congrats on the launch Dan! It's been a while since I've seen a human in a video and not an AI!
Dan Li
@davidshimjs LOL! thanks David!!!
Mian Azan
👏 Dan, congrats on the launch! Plus seems like a fantastic productivity tool for managing numerous programmes. How does Plus protect the safety and privacy of the data recorded in the real-time Snapshots?
Daniel Øllgaard
@mian_azan thanks for the comment and the question! To ensure a high degree of security we follow enterprise-grade security practices and build products with control and transparency in mind. We use the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256) encryption algorithm for data at-rest and Transport Layer Security (TLS) for data in-transit. In addition, we have achieved SOC 2 Type II level compliance.

@daniel_ollgaard wow that sounds very good

What's up, friends ! 🙌 Great job on getting Plus New Tab on PH! Looks interesting! What is your traction?
John Carmichael
@danielxli This is a great idea.. a truly custom data aggregator for the individual for any website... simple to use and seems to work out of the box with little to no effort! Great job! I am quite concerned about how you are able to get those screenshots: Are you storing request header data made by my machine on your servers?
Younghwi Cho
Wow, I had been considering creating a similar product a while back because it is incredibly useful for organising screenshots of specific websites for record-keeping purposes, like crypto portfolio pages or data feed pages. Thank you so much for providing such an excellent product!
Daniel Øllgaard
@andrew_cho thank you for the comment! We all use the product internally as well, we're excited to see that you see the same value!
Kevin Zweerink
Thanks for the support @andrew_cho! We always love to hear about how people are using the product!
